From June 1 to mid late June, on the premise of strictly preventing the rebound of the epidemic and controlling the risk, we fully implemented the normalized management of epidemic prevention and control, and comprehensively restored the normal production and living order of Shanghai.
Shanghai will promote the gradual transition from "three zones" control to normalized hierarchical and classified management.
"Closed area, stay at home and provide door-to-door service" in the sealing and control area. If there is no new positive infection in the sealing and control area for 7 days, it will be reduced to the control area;
"No one can leave the community, no gathering is allowed" in the control area. If there is no new positive infection in the control area for three consecutive days, it will be reduced to the prevention area;

The volume of unsealed goods in Shanghai has rebounded one after another. Although the latest Shanghai export container freight index (SCFI) has fallen for 17 consecutive weeks, the freight rate of the western US line has stopped falling and rebounded.
According to the data released by Shanghai Airlines exchange, the SCFI index was 4147.83 points last week, down 15.91 points or 0.38% from the previous week, falling to the low point since late July last year. The cumulative decline of SCFI index since this year is 18.82%, which is mainly dragged down by the decline of 24.65% in European line freight rate, while the decline of 10.76% in American east line freight rate and 1.18% in American west line freight rate is relatively limited.

It is worth noting that last week, the freight rate per feu on the Far East West line rose by US $12 to US $7900, up 0.15% this week. Market participants pointed out that the higher freight rates from the Far East to the western United States were mainly due to the successive unsealing of Shanghai and the successive delivery of some goods to the western United States, driving the slightly higher freight rates.

Industry insiders said that generally speaking, during the Spring Festival holiday, due to the shutdown of Chinese factories and the reduction of goods exports, the freight rate will fall for about 12-13 weeks after the Spring Festival, and then stop falling and pick up, but this year has fallen for 17 consecutive weeks. However, at present, the freight rate is still at a high level. As long as the freight rate decreases by no more than 50%, the centralized transportation company can still ensure high profits.
Industry analysts said that the recent freight rate trend of various routes showed that the demand of the United States was still strong. The freight rate of the US west line has been stable since May, and then rebounded slightly, which also reflects that the new long-term agreement of some container transportation companies is on the road, driving the spot price to strengthen. Once China speeds up the resumption of work and shipment, the transportation demand is expected to rise rapidly.

With China's closure and resumption of production at the same time, the volume of goods rebounded slowly in the short term. It is roughly estimated that the volume of goods in April decreased by 20% compared with March, and remained stable in May. In the context of China's accelerated resumption of work and production and policy support, the manufacturing industry will focus on shipping, and the shipping industry is expected to usher in strong market demand. At that time, the pressure on the supply chain will rise again to support the upward freight rate. The industry estimates that the volume of goods can be boosted as soon as the end of May and the beginning of June. In addition, labor negotiations between American and Western workers are underway, and the freight rate is expected to stop falling and rise by the end of May.
Analysts also believe that once China unseals and starts the rush wave, it will be the strengthening point of the freight rate and stock price in the spot market, and apply the new long-term freight rate of the doubled European line and the American line. They are cautiously optimistic about the centralized transportation market this year. At present, the performance in the second quarter is not weak, and then enter the traditional peak season in the third quarter. The volume and freight rate have the opportunity to rise.
